Amazon Web Services (AWS) is investing over $5.3 billion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and has committed to training up to 4,000 women in AWS.
In partnership with Skills City, it empowers women in tech in Saudi Arabia with a tailored cloud engineering program starting on May 28th 2024.

The AWS re/Start program prepares individuals for careers in the cloud and connects them to potential employers. A technology background is not required to apply. The program is free to the learner and focused on helping unemployed or underemployed individuals launch a new career.
Through coursework and hands-on labs, using real world scenarios, learners gain the technical skills they need for entry to mid-level cloud roles. AWS re/Start also provides learners with professional skills training like resume and interview coaching to prepare them for employer meetings and job interviews.
- Availability to attend training sessions for 14 weeks full-time starting on May 28th (including Eid-ul-Adha break)

- High school diploma of GED (General Educational Diploma) equivalent

This training program, delivered in English language is designed with your success in mind, combining theory lessons, hands-on lab sessions, and knowledge checks to ensure you gain a well-rounded understanding of the subject matter.
You will also get the chance to take part in a group assignment and a client-facing project. These projects will enable you to put your skills to the test while gaining industry and project management skills.

This training is offered to Saudi residents online, with some in-person sessions in Riyadh.

Your Eligibility
Here are the general requirements for this training program:
- All candidates must commit to this as a full-time course, up to 40 hours a week.
- This course cannot be pursued alongside any full-time work commitments. While it may be possible for some candidates to undertake evening or weekend jobs, this is not recommended.
- Access to a laptop with Zoom video conferencing software, including a functional microphone and camera.
- Fluent in both written and spoken English is essential.
- Computer Competency (no prior IT experience is required, but learners should be confident in working independently online across a variety of platforms).

Absolutely you can! Continuing on the training program is the best way to guarantee you have the skills and knowledge necessary to start the role. You must however ensure that your attendance is still maintained to be able to graduate.

The Skill City Industry Projects (SCIPs) are compulsory 6-week long projects that take place during the training program. SCIPs are a form of preparatory client-facing, group project experience, an accurate depiction of real-world, workplace projects.
Furthermore, SCIPs offer you an amazing opportunity to showcase your technical know-how, organisational, leadership, and teamwork skills to business leaders and prospective employers. In addition, you will have the opportunity to speak about your work with future employers and business leaders.
