Technology Students to Inspire Future Cyber Workforce

An initiative aimed at inspiring young people to pursue a career in technology has recruited five undergraduates from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

The students, who are studying a range of technology disciplines, are the first to be signed up by IN4.0 Group, a North West specialist technology training and consultancy provider, as part of its partnership with UCLan to grow a future workforce to support technology in industry.

The five students have signed up as ‘Technical Teaching Assistants’ (TTAs) and have recently supported a series of Girl’s Defender courses run by the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) CyberFirst programme across the UK.

The four-day courses aim to inspire young people to become cyber professionals. The role of the TTAs is to support with the activities and motivate the students taking part.

IN4.0 Group has entered into an agreement with QA to support the CyberFirst programme and intends to recruit further TTAs into the scheme from UCLan and other North West universities over the summer.
