Richard Hagan, Managing Director of Crystal Doors, has been appointed as an IN4.0 Fellow.
IN4.0 Fellows are experts in their respective fields and are carefully selected due to their commitment to making positive change through innovation and leadership.
Richard founded Crystal Doors, a Rochdale-based manufacturing company, 25 years ago and he’s revolutionised his business operations through the adoption of industrial digital technologies.
Crystal Doors manufacture bespoke kitchen, bedroom and bathroom vinyl wrapped doors. They’ve fully incorporated industry 4.0 technology into their production processes by implementing 3D printing, CNC nesting cells and robotic spraying. They also operate the country’s first customised industry 4.0 dust extractor and this particular technological solution has saved the company £10,400 a year!
As an IN4.0 Fellow, Richard will share his business expertise and experience with IN4.0 Factory Network members at our networking events and through our online portal which will launch later this year.
Richard, who is also a Rochdale Business Ambassador, said: “I’m honoured to have been selected as the inaugural IN4.0 Fellow. At Crystal Doors, we are committed to continuously developing our processes through technology and we have seen massive benefits, particularly through automation.
“I am also passionate about education and collaboration, so I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences of the opportunities that are out there for North West businesses.”
Mo Isap, CEO of IN4.0, said: “Richard and Crystal Doors are the embodiment of what can be achieved if manufacturers have the ability and leadership to adopt Industry 4.0 technology.
“The achievements of Crystal Doors are evidence of why the North West can once again be the powerhouse of manufacturing in this country, if we invest in this once-in-a-generation opportunity. I’m delighted to have Richard on board as our first IN4.0 Fellow and the guidance, leadership and knowledge he can provide businesses in this region is unrivalled.”
