Apprenticeship Standard: Data Technician (Level 3)
A nationally recognised apprenticeship focused on collecting, preparing, analysing and communicating data to support better decisions.
Duration: 12 months learning + up to 3 months EPA
A structured programme that builds confidence using data tools to improve services and performance.
Qualification: Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship
Demonstrates professional competence in data handling, analysis and communication.
Programme Structure
Programme Structure: 8 core modules
Covering data foundations, quality, security, analysis, visualisation and ethical use of data.
Masterclasses: 6 hours per month
Live, practical sessions focused on real workplace data challenges and applied learning.
Delivery Options: Flexible cohort‑based delivery
Closed employer cohorts can choose remote, hybrid or face‑to‑face delivery.
Open cohorts are delivered fully remote.
Off‑the‑Job Training: 348 hours (approx. 6 hours per week)
Delivered through meaningful workplace data projects and applied tasks.

Funding: Up to £13,000 funded
Available through the apprenticeship growth and skills levy, government co‑funding, or levy transfer options.
