There will be three cohorts, each with the same content but delivered on different days.
- Islington: Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays, with every Wednesday in-person
- Hackney: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with every Thursday in-person

The sessions will take place 9:30am-1:30pm starting on 8th December 2025 and ending on 19th March 2026.

Weeks 1–6: Data & Digital Skills
- Excel for data cleaning, analysis, dashboards, and data security
- SQL and database fundamentals
- Power BI for data preparation, modelling, and visualisation
- Introduction to Azure data services and cloud-based ETL
Weeks 7–12: Data Protection & Compliance
- Core UK GDPR principles and lawful bases
- Accountability, DPIAs, RoPA, and privacy notices
- Data subject rights, FOI/EIR, and the role of the ICO
- Data breaches, PECR, marketing rules, and cookies
- International data transfers and emerging global issues
- Women with children or caring responsibilities
- You must have a postcode within the Greater London Authority to participate
- You must be aged 19 or over on the first day of the programme
- You must not have already completed a fully funded programme from the Department for Education
- You must have been living in the UK for at least 3 consecutive years
- Have previous work experience (not necessarily tech)
- Motivated to retrain in data-related fields and re-enter the workforce
As part of the programme, you will gain a qualification and knowledge in:
- Key changes introduced by GDPR and the UK Data Protection Act 2018
- Individual and organisational responsibilities, including record keeping
- Understanding and applying data subject rights
- Role and responsibilities of a Data Protection Officer (DPO)
- Preparing organisations to handle personal data compliantly
Post-programme, you will also receive support to find work or an opportunity to continue learning with an accelerated apprenticeship with a local employer.
