Power of MIND: Helping Mums and Carers Return to Digital Careers
The Power of MIND (Mums in Data) is a transformative 12-week programme helping stay-at-home mums and women returning from career breaks re-enter the workforce through high-demand data governance and compliance roles.
The programme combines flexible, hybrid training with personal development and industry experience, enabling women to upskill professionally without compromising family responsibilities.
Across the UK, over 54% of mums aged 25–49 are economically inactive due to family or home commitments, while nearly half of UK businesses face challenges recruiting people with essential data skills. The Multiverse 2025 Skills Intelligence Report estimates the UK economy loses £61.94 billion annually due to data skills gaps, highlighting the critical need for a digitally skilled workforce to drive economic growth and innovation.
Women comprise less than 25% of AI and data science professionals in the UK, underscoring the gender imbalance across these industries.
MIND removes the barriers to employment for mums, tackling both the data skills shortage and the gender gap in tech. It unlocks local, untapped talent and supports women with valuable life experience to gain confidence, achieve professional qualifications, and secure meaningful employment in the digital economy.
